Hi everyone!
My hope is this post finds you well. It’s nice to be back after a long hiatus away from the blog. No hasn’t been because I stopped cooking and baking, but I felt repetitive. My dishes felt uninteresting or too simple to post about.
However, I am back. With new ideas and a ton of solo free time…thanks COVID quarantine.
My job falls under the umbrella of first responder, although I would lovingly describe it as a close-second responder. I am still out on the streets hard at work, so on my days off I have limited my human interactions to keep my loved ones safe.
I don’t know what quarantine activities you find yourself doing to stay busy, mine include working out, puzzling, cooking/baking, and shamelessly bingeing Food Network.
The Food Network show “Chopped” has offered up a viral gift, the at-home Chopped Challenge. Immediately I felt inspired and eager to get involved! The premise of the challenge, someone chooses 4 ingredients and within 24 hours you post your dish.
With my friend Alyssa on FaceTime we created an at-home episode of Chopped. She enjoyed torturing me with my four ingredients and I had an absolute blast conceptualizing a dish. I would lovingly describe my episode as a mixture of Chopped rules and a mediocre “Learning in the Kitchen” cooking show. Oh boy the end result is gold (I find myself to be semi-comical)! Of course, you can be the judge of that!
